A profound lesson on the love of Torah As the Shavuot holiday approaches, we have the custom of consuming dairy products. But what is the reason for this custom? One explanation is that after the giving of the Torah, the Children of Israel could no longer eat meat as before: they now had to observe the laws of shechita (ritual purification), salting, and kashering. Therefore, they consumed dairy products. But there is also a profound lesson: when an infant is hungry, it seeks only one thing: milk. Nothing else interests it. Not even the best meal in the world can replace this essential need. Similarly, Shavuot invites us to feel that the Torah is our true nourishment, our deepest need, the essence of our lives. May we all have the merit of receiving the Torah with love, joy, and a genuine thirst for spiritual growth. #Shavuot #Torah #DairyProducts #ShavuotFestival #TorahReading #Minhag #TorahLife #Judaism #Shiur #Emunah #LoveOfTheTorah #Hashem #Parasha #JewishHolidays
