The Yamato Museum (Kure Maritime Museum) underwent its first major renovation since opening on April 23, 2005, and reopened on April 23, 2026. The renovations included "restoration of the 1/10 scale battleship 'Yamato' model," "conversion of the 3rd-floor Yamato Theater into a multi-purpose hall," and "expansion of exhibits in the Kure History Room and Science and Technology Exhibition Room."
