Solar street lights transform lives in Kiambu
For years, nightfall in many parts of Kiambu County brought business to an early close, limited movement, and left many areas in darkness. Today, that is changing. Thousands of solar-powered street lights are illuminating roads, markets, and public spaces, extending business hours, improving security and mobility, and supporting the delivery of essential public services. County officials say the Angaza Kiambu programme is not only transforming livelihoods but also reducing the cost of service delivery through the use of clean, renewable energy. Mary Muoki reports.
