The Perception Of Your Position

The Perception of Your Position Seeing Yourself Where God Has Placed You Key Scripture: "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he..." — Proverbs 23:7 One of the greatest battles believers face is not the battle of location, but the battle of perception. Many are already standing where God has placed them, yet they cannot function there because they cannot perceive it. Throughout Scripture, God consistently spent more time changing the perception of His people than changing their circumstances. Introduction Your position in Christ is established by God, but your perception of that position determines whether you walk in its authority. Many believers have a heavenly position while maintaining an earthly mindset. They have authority but think like slaves. They have sonship but live like orphans. They have inheritance but think like beggars. Satan's first attack is never against your gift—it is against your identity. Once your perception becomes distorted, your position becomes ineffective. Paul writes: "And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus." (Ephesians 2:6) Notice the language. We are seated, yet many believers continue living as though they are crawling.
