President Museveni Hosts Former South African President Jacob Zuma at State Lodge Nakasero
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni today hosted former President of South Africa, H.E. Jacob Zuma, at State Lodge Nakasero, where the two leaders held discussions aimed at strengthening business and investment cooperation between Uganda and South Africa. The meeting brought together government officials and investors who explored opportunities for collaboration in key sectors of Uganda’s economy, including energy generation, power transmission, irrigation, and value addition to mineral resources. President Museveni welcomed the investment proposals presented during the meeting, describing them as progressive and beneficial to Uganda’s industrialization agenda. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting serious investors, particularly those focusing on manufacturing and agricultural production. The President emphasized the importance of affordable energy in driving economic transformation, noting that Uganda remains committed to keeping electricity costs low to support industries and attract investment. President Museveni also highlighted the importance of railway transport and accessible financing as critical pillars for strengthening Uganda’s productive sectors and accelerating industrial development. Former South African President Jacob Zuma thanked President Museveni for the warm welcome and expressed commitment to continued investment cooperation between Uganda and South Africa.
