Murray Leinster (1896-1975), actual name William Fitzgerald Jenkins, is one of the big names of early golden age Science Fiction, publishing hundreds of stories between 1918 and the 60s. He wrote stories in several genres, with SF getting the brunt of the effort. He won the Hugo Award in 1956 for best novelette “Exploration Team”, in addition to being nominated several times. Ditto the Retro Hugo Award in 1996 for the novelette “First Contact”, originally published in 1945. - Stories of Futures Past presents a vintage science fiction short story, narrated by myself, Tom Trussel. An actual, real living human being, warts and all. Any and all voices and effects are produced live during reading with my actual voice. No obnoxious after effects, synthetic voices or filters used.
