Getting Married! Flying to Santa Barbara for my Step Brother's Wedding (Livermore to Santa Barbara)

My step brother got married to a wonderful young lady and I flew down to celebrate with them and my family. First time flying into Santa Barbara Municipal Airport and actually my first time visiting Santa Barbara! Had a blast. Flight down was uneventful. I had practiced this flight a couple of times in a home flight simulator and adjusted my flight plan based on how the simulator flights went. Originally I had planned to fly to Paso Robles and then direct to Santa Barbara; however, that would have put me over the highest part of the mountain range adjacent to the airport. The result would have been a very interesting dive bomb approach into the airport. I opted instead to fly from PRB to the Gaviota (GVO) navigation beacon, which allowed me to stay lower over the mountains as well as gave me plenty of space to descend to KSBA's pattern altitude. Was a wonderful flight and overall an excellent weekend adventure.
