DSFP Session 23: Advanced Sampling Techniques

The LSST Discovery Alliance Data Science Fellowship Program is an innovative training program for Astronomy graduate students to prepare them for data intensive science with the Vera C. Rubin Observatory Legacy Survey of Space and Time. In this lecture, Dr. Greg Gilbert, postdoctoral scholar in astronomy at the California Institute of Technology, introduces advanced sampling techniques for Bayesian Inference. This lecture was part of Session 23: Statistics and Bayesian Inference, hosted by the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. Accompanying Python/Jupyter notebooks for this and subsequent sessions are available here: https://github.com/LSSTC-DSFP/ More information about the LSST Discovery Alliance DSFP can be found here: https://lsstdiscoveryalliance.org/pro...
