The Tofu Chef is back with one of the most well-known Chinese dish - Mapo Tofu. We have made this recipe into a vegan, healthier version. Hope you also enjoy the history and cultural backdrop of this popular dish :) ** Correction: what we used in this video is actually scallion, not chives. --------------------------------------------- ▶️ Subscribe to our channel: / @thetofuchef2629 --------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------- Recipe: Serving size - 1-2 person(s) --------------------------------------------- Main ingredient- 400g soft tofu / 14 OZ Core condiments - 1 tsp douchi /fermernted beans 1/2 tbsp pixian bean paste 1 tbsp Szechuan / Sichuan peppercorn 1/2 tbsp chili powder Meat substitutes - 1 piece shiitake mushroom 1 piece pressed tofu (the whole mix is about 50g/2 OZ) Others - 2 tbsp vegetable oil 2 tbsp garlic & ginger mix 300ml water / 10 OZ 1tbsp corn starch dissolved in water Garnishing - 1 tbsp scallion/green onions (you can use chives as well.
