Body and Soul - Parte 1

Body and Soul is one of those pieces that, after a few bars, forces you to confront real jazz. Not so much because of the technical difficulty... but because of the way melody and harmony continually intertwine, creating tension, direction, and movement. In this first part of the "Learning Jazz with Standards" series, we begin to explore one of the most profound and fascinating standards in the jazz tradition, trying to understand not only "what chords are there"... but above all how to think musically within this piece. Above all, we'll try to understand why Body and Soul has been a fundamental testing ground for decades for musicians like Coleman Hawkins, Joe Pass, Wes Montgomery, Tal Farlow, and countless others. Because on a piece like this, you can't hide behind patterns or formulas: your true relationship with the sound, the melody, and the harmonic sense immediately emerges. As always, the goal is not to learn "the correct solution"... but to develop a more lively, more fluid, and more informed musical understanding of the keyboard and the jazz language. 🎸 Series: Let's Learn Jazz with Standards ☕ Grab your guitar, relax... and let's dive into Body and Soul. 👉 Subscribe to the channel so you don't miss the next installment of the series. 👉 Leave a comment with your questions or feedback. 👉 Join the chat with questions and comments during the live stream. 👉 Don't forget to join us on Discord at   / discord  ! 🎸🔥 Notes: 🔗 Theory Notes https://appunti-di-teoria-e-armonia-p... 🔗 Practice Notes https://appunti-pratica-per-chitarra-...
