Born in Montreuil-sous-Bois, Olivier Dacourt grew up in the town of Aulnay-sous-Bois. Of Guadeloupean descent, Olivier grew up in a warm home with his mother and siblings. Very gifted with football and encouraged by his late uncle, Olivier began to dream big. Scouted by RC Strasbourg, he signed his first professional contract and lived up to all the expectations placed on him. Olivier was considered one of the best defensive midfielders of his era. He spent his career in France, England, Italy, and Belgium.
