Collings DS1 and Santa Cruz RS compared

Hi, this video is not meant to make any points and the guitar designs are different, but both are large bodied guitars with sitka tops and mahogany backs and sides. 1. 2008 Collings DS1 - This is a tribute to the Martin ORIGINAL or STANDARD dreadnought. 12 frets to body - Ditson Martin, and pre 1934 D1/D-18 styling. It has a 25.5" scale 1 & 13/16" nut width and 2 & 3/8" string spacing. 2. 2012 Santa Cruz "RS" made after the Gibson "Roy Smeck" design of 1934-1942 Stage Deluxe. Short scale - 24.75" 1 &13/16" nut width and app. 2 & 5/16" string spacing. Both were originally intended to be played Hawaiian style, and (I'm told) the Martin was offered with a round "Spanish" neck but with a nut riser so it could be set up either way. The Roy Smeck was only built with a Hawaiian neck and most have been converted. Both guitars have new D'addario EJ17s restring shortly before the video so rather bright. My apologies for the poor playing - I'm having some problems with my left hand at present. As always your comments and questions are welcomed as are requests for new video subjects. Thanks for watching.
