Vevey to Chamby railway journey

A steam hauled journey on the Swiss metre gauge line from Vevey up to Chamby on 25th May 2015. We begin our trip at Vevey behind ex-Brig-Furka-Disentis loco No:5 (built 1913) and German Mallet No:105 (built 1918). At Blonay ex Brünigbahn No:6 (built 1901) is added to the train for the 5% climb up to Chamby. Soon after Blonay the two leading locos are taken off to cross the fine curved Viaduc de la Baie de Clarens one at a time. The train then slowly crosses the viaduct with one loco and is re-coupled to the other two to continue the journey. The line is very scenic and affords stunning views across Lac Léman to the snow topped French Alps. Unfortunately the camcorder failed before we reached our destination so the video ends with a shot of a pleasure steamer on Lac Léman.
