On a day of travel from Vienna, Austria, to Salzburg, what was supposed to be a normal train journey takes an unexpected turn... 🚆 🎫 After the direct train was canceled, siblings rebooked on a connecting train. 💺 But the truth about the "first-class seat" they'd paid €6 for was shocking! 🚫 It turned out I'd only reserved a seat, and I was kicked out because there were no actual first-class tickets. ================================================================== I'll explain the story in more detail in case it helps anyone who's planning to go: I knew I had to pay for each compartment and seat separately on OBB :) (I originally booked a second-class standing room ticket...!) I was confused, partly because it was my first time experiencing a train cancellation! We discovered the original train cancellation email a little late and rebooked using the link attached to the email. But the screen at the time didn't show any additional fees other than the first-class seat fare (€6). (I looked carefully, but I couldn't find it... It must have been there somewhere... 😅) "Oh, I don't see the option to add a train fare. Maybe if I canceled unilaterally and rebooked, I could just pay the seat fare and get a first-class seat!"
