Silver Lake CA pot hole swimming and Kit Carson Restaurant and Lodge El Dorado County

Join us for a weekend escape to Silver Lake in El Dorado County, California! This trip had a little bit of everything from the beautiful mountain scenery, relaxing creekside camping, and some delicious local food. We spent time exploring the famous Potholes, where the crystal-clear water and unique rock formations make for a perfect Sierra Nevada adventure. When hunger struck, we headed over to the historic Kit Carson Lodge for a fantastic meal. Great food, beautiful views, and a cozy mountain atmosphere made it a great addition to our trip. Back at camp, we were lucky enough to have a site nestled right next to a peaceful creek. Falling asleep to the sound of rushing water and waking up surrounded by towering pines reminded us why we love camping so much. A special shout-out to our camp host, Hobie, whose friendly attitude and welcoming spirit helped make our stay even more enjoyable. It's people like Hobie who make campgrounds feel like home.
