Exploring Utah's Most Remote Slot Canyon and Rock Crawling Poison Spring Canyon to the Dirty Devil
On day 2 of my overlanding trip with my dog, I start off at Butch Cassidy's hideout, drive Poison Spring Canyon to Blackjump in my Jeep Cherokee XJ, rock crawl through 16 miles of narrow sandstone canyon in Robber's Roost, ford the Dirty Devil River, explore one of the most remote and dangerous slot canyons in the world, and camp high on a shelf above Utah's canyon country. I encounter dangerous wildlife along the way and find an abundance of petrified wood by an old World War 2 uranium mine. Regarding Specific Locations: I generally try to avoid naming specific locations or coordinates, but sometimes make exceptions for areas that are already well-known. I do this to help protect the mystery and pristine qualities of these places. I generally won't respond to comments asking for names of locations, and I appreciate those who already know for not naming them either.
