Steel Division: Normandy 44: British Campaign - Mission 3: The Scottish Corridor

The third mission is a convoy defense mission. It is quite annoying to play through and determines what reinforces you for the final mission. The units in the convoy are pretty random, so what you will get will vary from playthrough to playthrough. The bottom and top of the route are actually pretty easy to defend. You can copy the setups used here or find more efficient ones. If things go well, the Germans will never break through your lines. I accidentally ordered my Churchill up top away and it led to a small breakthrough, so make sure to keep your lines steady. The main threats to the convoy are the Panzer IV push from the left and the Panther push from the right towards the center of the map. The Panzer IV push can actually be instantly stopped if you use a Typhoon AT to rout all of them and instantly surrender them with the help of an infantry squad nearby. I messed up the timing and it led to disastrous results, so don't be afraid to save scum that encounter. As for the Panthers, there isn't much you can do, except wait for them to get close and ambush them at point-blank range. Other than that, your aim is to preserve as many 17-pdrs as possible for the final mission. This is not made easy by the fact that the Germans will bring up Hummels, Wurfrahmens, and plenty of Ju88S with 500kg bombs as soon as Phase C starts. All of these will prioritize your AT guns and I'm pretty sure the ai cheats to locate them, so it is all up to RNG at that point. You can try to take the artillery out by locating them and striking them with a Typhoon AT, but be aware that the Hummels are defended by a Wirblewind and the Wurfrahmens are deep behind enemy lines. As for the Ju88S, position some Bofors near your AT positions as they are the main targets, and hope your planes can rout them in time. If you want to be extra safe, have some command near your AA.
