Forest Greens: A Spontaneous Watercolour Landscape | Loose Expressive Style Style Demonstration
This painting developed quite intuitively, layer by layer, and surprised me with a waterfall that appeared almost on its own, and some very lovely textures. I started with an abstract wash, as I often do, and then slowly added some details and accents to develop this peaceful landscape. The rich, deep greens here make me feel so calm when I look at them – I will share the colours and the mixes I used along the way. As always, I softened the paints on my palette with a spray bottle before I began, and I am painting at a slight angle to encourage the paint to move and flow. Let’s see how this peaceful scene came to life.
