Everyone Said Ballarat’s Gold Was Gone… They Were Wrong!

Everyone told me the same thing… “Ballarat’s been hammered. There’s no gold left.” Instead of listening, I decided to trust the landscape. On this trip, I explored a part of Ballarat that many detectorists walk straight past. Rather than following old dig holes, I followed the shape of the land, the creek lines, and the natural features that made sense to me. That decision changed everything. What started as a gamble turned into one of those days that reminds you why research, persistence, and thinking differently can still pay off in Victoria’s historic goldfields. If you’ve ever believed Ballarat is “worked out,” this video might make you think twice. Join me as I explore new ground and reveal what was hiding beneath the coil. 💬 Do you think Ballarat still has plenty of gold left, or are the best days behind us?
