Budapest Hungary: A Beautiful City Hiding a Dark WW2 Secret

Our first visit to Hungary was to Budapest, a picturesque city that unfortunately witnessed atrocities hard to describe during WW II. We decided to dedicate an episode to this chapter of history and we dove deeper into the experiences that marked forever the jewish community. In this respect we visited the Dohany Street Synagogue Complex to understand its role for the community and how the past shaped its current existence. The result we intend to be a lesson about the dark side of humanity that can be applied universally because the Holocaust is a deeply personal story about the effect that hatred and prejudice can have on a nation.
