Wise Anderson Protocol - Explaining Paradoxical Relaxation For Pelvic Pain and Prostatitis
Paradoxical Relaxation is an integral part of the Wise Anderson Protocol. The purpose is to profoundly relax the tensed and shortened muscles of the pelvic floor. This video explains the daily practice and how it is used to alleviate pelvic pain caused by anxiety and tension. Paradoxical Relaxation has two components: one that involves breathing exercises and another that directs the patient to focus attention on releasing the tension in specific areas of the body. The focus of paradoxical relaxation is specifically avoided for the first few months of relaxation training due to risk of the focus aspect exacerbating symptoms. It is recommended that competence in relaxation is primarily received. Upon instruction the patient is guided to redirect attention away from discursive thinking by targeting brain waves of a low frequency. Understanding how meditation for pelvic pain can be conducted in a more comfortable setting for better results.
