The Baptism of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost
In this sermon, we walk through Luke’s big storyline where Jesus continues His work from the Father’s right hand through His church, and we slow down at Pentecost, the festival that brought Jews from every nation into Jerusalem. When tongues like fire appear and the apostles speak in other tongues meaning real languages, the miracle isn’t chaos for its own sake. It’s mission. People hear the mighty works of God in their own language, and Peter stands up to explain it by quoting Joel 2: God is pouring out His Spirit in the last days so anyone who calls on the name of the Lord can be saved.
