In this September sky preview, I'll take you to exciting objects in the night sky – suitable for everyone, from beginners with smart telescopes to experienced astrophotographers with their own observatories. The focus is on the constellations Lacerta, Pegasus, and Cepheus – a region of the Milky Way heavily influenced by interstellar dust. Of course, classics like the Bubble Nebula and the Elephant's Trunk Nebula (IC 1396) are included. But exotic highlights like the Gyulbudaghian Nebula also await you. As object of the month, I present the Cave Nebula Sh2-155 – a fascinating star-forming region that impressively demonstrates the dynamics of cosmic star formation. Galaxy hunters won't be left out either: NGC 7331 offers an exciting target for larger telescopes and a surprise.
