One of the most well known brand of tape recorders in the 1960's was REVERE. The Revere Camera Company started making tape recorders in the late 1950's and continued to produce machines until the end of the 1960's. Revere tape recorders were quite popular with consumers and businesses as well as institutions, such as libraries and schools. They were solidly built and very dependable tape recorders that were portable and attractively styles as well as very easy to operate – with excellent sound quality. In this series of videos, Clydesight explores the Revere T-2000 reel to reel mono tape recorder. This became a “flagship” for the company and was only replaced with one future model, the Revere T-3000 which appeared at the end of the 1960's. In part 4 of this series, Clydesight shows the location of the tubes for the Revere tape recorder and explains about the electrolytic capacitors used in the amplifier.
