Layout #4, Video #38, new BLI SD70ACes, UP Power car, and Walther's set of PRR box cars and caboose

This is our 117th video documenting our exploration of the model railroading hobby. It is the 38th video for our fourth (HO Scale) layout. In this video, we show our new Broadway Limited Imports SD70ACe die cast models, our new Broadway Limited Imports model of the UP Power Car, and our new set of Walther's Pennsylvania Railroad box cars. First, I want to apologize for this video taking so long. Between family, work, and the holidays Chris and I had a hard time connecting to get the video made. We did manage to collect some new equipment for our collection, but we never got to make the video or try it out. As a result, this video is a little longer than I normally try for also. The first two are new models of the SD70ACe from Broadway Limited. These are two more copies of the same loco as our UP Rio Grande Heritage model we covered previously. One is in Ferromex (the Mexican railroad company) livery while the other is in a fantasy paint scheme of the Pennsylvania Railroad dark green, if they had still been in business and bought these locomotives. Since we had covered this before, we did not do much on the loco itself, but I do point out how nice a job BLI does customizing each one for how it was equipped by that specific railway. Some of the easier to see differences are in the window shades, the headlight configuration, the fuel tank, the antenna, and the ditch lights. I am sure there are more that I did not notice during the video. They are still very well made and run great. I do appreciate the smoke unit in these models for looking like a normal diesel exhaust. We received an order of the Walther's HO box car set in PRR livery. This is a set of 12 40-foot box cars with nice detailing, and it includes one caboose. The cars felt like they had a decent weight (I did not weigh them to check) but they rolled easily and stayed coupled with no significant problems. The price was very reasonable for the set and I think anyone who likes the PRR from that era will want a set. If your local shop does not have it in stock, you might call Dibble's Hobbies at 210-735-7721 or by their website at https://www.dibbleshobbies.com/ and see if they can help. I know they did buy at least one set for normal stock, but I doubt it will stay there long. Finally, we showed our new BLI UP Power car. The Power car was designed by UP for use with their excursion trains. The modern locomotives do not produce enough electrical power or water heating for the VIPs riding the excursion trains to be able to enjoy the ride. The power car has a two diesel engines with generator compartments, plumbing, walk-in freezers and commissary storage, and even a private bedroom for the electrician who has to ride along and supervise the functioning of the car. There is a better description of what it is for on the BLI website (I appreciate that they tell you a lot of the prototype's basic information for their models). We do have another video of the new BLI Shay steam locomotive. It will be posted shortly also.
