Walking The Thames Path Part 10. Lechlade To The Source
I've never experienced an ending that felt so much like a beginning. All the previous Thames Path walks have been with Joy. She is now my ex-wife, so this particular walk was undertaken against this backdrop. The actual distance is 23 miles, but by the time you added the getting to and from this turned out to be a 25 mile day. Whilst the mighty Thames continued to diminish in size, the surrounding landscape and villages were more than enough to compensate. From the early morning mist upon the water to the expansive views across a quintessential English landscape, this journey was to mark both an end and a beginning.
