Day 10 | Abingdon to Oxford

Day 10. A social bakery run by ex-prisoners. A university I didn't get into. And a pub at the end of the world's most famous towpath. After 30 years in television, I strapped on a backpack and started walking. Today it's Abingdon to Oxford — and a day that turns out to be about access. Who gets to go to Oxford. Who gets a second chance. And whether any of it is as fair as we like to think it is. I stop at a remarkable social enterprise south of Oxford — a bakery offering work and rehabilitation to ex-offenders. Then I walk into one of the most famous cities on earth, past the Radcliffe Camera, through Port Meadow with its wild horses, and finish the day — in new shoes — at the Trout Inn. The shoes, it turns out, are not going to solve everything. 🗓️ New episodes every Tuesday at 7am 👉 Instagram:   / chrisc_is_walking   🎬 IMDB: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1536222/ 🎵 Music by DANIEL PEMBERTON #thamespath #walkinguk #hikinguk #britishwalking #travelvloguk #walkingvlog #careerchange #newchapter #midlifeadventure #danielpemberton #thesinglestep #chriscarey #slowtvuk #oxford #abingdon #oxfordshire #riverthames #hikingvlog #outdooruk #longdistancewalking #englishcountryside #radcliffecamera #portmeadow #troutinn #rehabilitation #socialbakery
