Want a DISTINCTION in YOUR next ABRSM Exam? https://www.music-online.org.uk/2019/... E Aural Trainer - recognising perfect and imperfect cadences for Grade 6 ABRSM Aural and Grade 4 Trinity Aural. In this video you will learn how to easily recognise the difference in sound between a perfect and imperfect cadence for Grade 6 ABRSM Aural and Grade 4 Trinity Aural. A cadence is the harmony that is used at the end of a phrase. The word perfect signifies something complete and finished, whereas imperfect describes something incomplete and unfinished. This is the same in music. A phrase ending with a perfect cadence feels like it could finish there, and one ending with an imperfect cadence feels like something else is needed to complete it. If I said, “The dog that was sleeping on the bed,” it would be like an imperfect cadence, the phrase on its own needs something else to finish it. However, if I said, “The dog that was sleeping on the bed, was snoring” - this would be like a perfect cadence a complete finished statement ~-~~-~~~-~~-~ Please watch: "STOP PRESS - Sample Papers for the NEW style ABRSM Music Theory Papers AVAILABLE NOW!!"    • STOP PRESS - Sample Papers for the NEW sty...   ~-~~-~~~-~~-~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Listen to MusicOnline UK on Spotify https://open.spotify.com/album/7Cbh8c... ~~~~~~~~~~~ Join this channel to get access to perks:    / @musiconlineuk
