Storm Babet

I thought for this week's post I would go back into my archives, and show you Storm Babet. Storm Babet hit the North East coast of England on October 20th 2023, it was one of the most powerful storms in recent memory. It was so powerful that it destroyed the top of the lighthouse at the end of the south pier at the mouth of the Tyne. Some of the footage may seem shaky, but this was purely down to the strength of the wind. It was probably the most challenging weather conditions I have filmed / photographed in, cold wind, incessant rain, all blowing straight into my face… and of course the lens too.
