ICLCA SLA SDSS Webinar | Empowering Strategic, Self Regulated, Learners

This presentation introduces assessment instruments and how they can be used to help students become strategic, self-regulated, learners. The Strategic Learning Assessment (SLA) is a 20-minute online assessment that identifies a student's awareness and skills in 11 key learning areas essential for academic success, including Communication, Critical Thinking, Effective Learning Strategies, Focus and Concentration, Growth Mindset, Persistence, Seeking Help, Sense of Belonging, Stress Management, Test Preparation, and Time Management. The Self-Determination Student Scale (SDSS) measures five competencies related to increased self-determination: Know Yourself and Your Context, Value Yourself, Plan, Act and Experience Outcomes, and Learn. Both the SLA and the SDSS provide tailored recommendations and strategies for each assessed learning area. Participants will learn how the SLA and SDSS provide personalized feedback and data-driven insights to benefit both students and educators. A live demonstration will showcase the student and administrator experiences, including the Administrative Dashboard's features. Presenters: Sharon Field Hoffman, Ed.D.
