Bohol Island: The Philippines Felt Different Than You'd Think 🇵🇭

Bohol Island in the Philippines was never on my radar in a big way. I’d heard the name, but I didn’t really know what I was stepping into. What I found was an island that constantly contradicts itself — peaceful and frantic, authentic and deeply touristic, thoughtful and commercial all at once. And somehow, that mix made it one of the most interesting travel days I’ve had in the Philippines so far. In this vlog I take you along with me from a centuries-old coral church built in 1595, straight into the chaos and charm of a floating $17 all-you-can-eat buffet boat on the Loboc River. The food surprised me, the music overwhelmed me, and the experience was both uniquely Filipino and, honestly, a bit much. We travel through the man-made forest — beautiful but crowded — and quietly step into a tarsier sanctuary where seeing the smallest primate on Earth was equal parts fascinating and ethically confusing. I found myself questioning why I travel, even while appreciating the chance to see something so rare. The day ends high above the island at the Chocolate Hills, a place that looks almost unreal, framed by constant selfie-sticks and tour buses, yet still so undeniably stunning that it forces you to stop and breathe. Bohol wasn’t what I expected. It was louder, greener, more touristed, more surprising — and it left me thinking long after we left. 👉 This is video #16 of my round-the-world series, SUBSCRIBE to follow the full series:    / @davidgtravels   📌 WATCH NEXT 🇵🇭 More videos from the Philippines →    • Travel In The Philippines 🇵🇭   🚀 Check out all the videos from my current round-the-world trip here →    • First Round-The-World Trip   🌎 More travel videos from around the world →    • Travel Inspiration 🚀   💸 Travel tips and hacks to save money →    • Travel Insight 💡   🛫A few travel products I'm using right now: 💻Daily Drop Pro has solid FREE flight alerts that you can sign up for here ✅ https://pro.dailydrop.com/register?vi...
