Queenless… Or Not? Rechecking My Hives + Honey Pull Begins | #colesfarmnc #jacksonvillenc

In this video, I go back through several hives that I previously suspected were queenless to see what’s really going on. Anytime a colony shows signs of being queenless, it’s worth taking a closer look—and sometimes, things aren’t always what they seem. After working through those hives, I shift gears and begin this year’s honey harvest. Unlike last season where I pulled everything at once (and definitely felt it), I’m changing things up this year. The plan is to work in smaller, more manageable batches—pulling supers as they’re ready instead of all at once. Going forward, I’ll aim to pull around four supers at a time, which should translate to about two buckets per round. A much more sustainable approach, especially during a busy part of the season. I also take some time in this video to share a few pieces of equipment I’ve been looking forward to using. Some of it was picked up last year and never got put into rotation, and a few items are new from this year’s spring meeting. If you’re interested in checking out some of the equipment, Hill Co was kind enough to provide a discount code for the channel: 👉 Use code: COLESFARM5 (Valid for one use per customer • 5% off • excludes items already on sale) Always appreciate companies that are willing to support the beekeeping community. Overall, things are moving right along—working through hive checks, making adjustments, and easing into the honey pull one step at a time. 🐝 One link. All the buzz. ➡️ https://linktr.ee/colesfarmnc
