Dick Winters Says British Are Great Planners But Can't Execute | Band of Brothers
Major Dick Winters, portrayed by Damian Lewis in Band of Brothers, gives his honest opinion of the British, saying they're wonderful planners, but when it comes to execution, you better do it yourself. Winters addresses the British failures in Operation Market Garden in World War II, criticizing their lack of urgency by saying that "the British of course have to stop and have tea." Operation Pegasus, which is depicted in Band of Brothers, is also mentioned. In the Dick Winters interview, the Easy Company veteran goes on to discuss his dislike of British rations compared to American rations, which included Hershey's chocolate bars.
