Facing Oncoming Traffic on Colorado’s Mosquito Pass Narrow Shelf Road

This was the first time I have been on Mosquito Pass. It was an interesting day wheeling with the Burro Races headed to the top of the pass. This is a cool trail worth running. It took me just about 2 hours to complete it. I started in Alma and headed over the pass down into Leadville. There are no real obstacles on this trail to speak of. It is bumpy but not terribly bad. No off-camber spots exist. The trail on the west side of the pass is most of a shelf road than the east side. Just make sure that you pay attention and keep your eye out for oncoming traffic.
