DIAMOND - finally VISIBLE

Finally it appeared and presented it self in one piece… By peeling away two more layers of corundum and quartz base, the recognizable face of this beautiful gem finally emerged. A lot of scratching afterwards, swollen fingers and numb palms, but it was worth it. Although at the end of the video you can see that the diamond is still quite a bit in the substrate, larger parts have emerged and shown the true texture, shape and light dispersion, and that is what I expected. The substrate that remained on the surface as a glaze, gives me a lot of trouble when measuring the hardness because it is present in almost every part, but when I find a clean spot, the value quickly exceeds 10 and quickly goes into the red. The morning sun at dawn lured me to quickly record this video because I was surprised by how quickly I removed the substrate. You can't imagine what the gem looks like in real life. It is completely unnaturally shiny. There is no way I would have missed seeing it if it was like this in nature. However, if you follow this history from the beginning, then you can see what the most common "road" stone was in the beginning. One small particle from it threw a ray of light that I caught in passing and here it is now glittering in all directions on my desk. What is important... Mica inclusions, which are found in this gem only on one side and almost on the surface due to the strong light refraction of the gem, permeate the entire stone, that is, they are reflected through it, so from certain angles it looks like granite. The stone is definitely blue, but under the influence of the rays of light and the background, it adjusts its color. The tool is very important and especially the feeling and experience of where to hit and where to scratch with all your might. The work is not finished, but a lot has been done and I am very satisfied. At one point, after frantically hitting it with a heavy hammer, I thought I had broken the diamond. I'll just mention that ,,, the surface on which you place the gem that you hit must not be hard. Of course, the blows must be measured, but everyone's eyes go dark when something is so hard that you have the impression that it is completely unbreakable. Fortunately, I experienced something similar with Carbonado black diamonds, which are my special passion. My second stone, which I found near the same spot, is not a diamond, but a beautiful blue gem that I will analyze further with a group of sapphires. The point is that it is not easy to find a diamond at all, and it is even more difficult to identify it. I think that every diamond is deep in the ground and I think that many videos on the Internet mask the image of the gem that many gem hunters are looking for because the real image is completely different. I think you need to have skills that will make identifying a gem much easier. For example, when it comes to a diamond or any other gem, my recommendation is to use what makes the gem stand out the most, what is specific and original to the gem. Check it out... A diamond is the best conductor of heat in the world. If you put it with several others in hot water for a few seconds, you will easily see that it is warmer than the other stones. That is very important to me. Of course, measure the hardness of the diamond and you will know if it is real. Hardness is the easiest determinant and for many other gems it improves identification.
