ADHD (Attention Deficit with hyperactive Disorder) is a neurodevelopmental disorder whose development and intensity are closely dependent on the child's environment. ADHD is diagnosed in 10% of the children population and causes difficulties in the child's educational development, social and family life. The disorder affects family life, and parents usually report difficulties in interacting with the child, feelings of helplessness and a sense of chaos at home. Considering this disorder is mainly genetic, in most cases, one parent often has ADHD and / or one of the child's siblings. In this situation, the need to work with parents to act as an anchor and regulator for the child and the family - becomes even greater. The lecture will present a study conducted at Schneider Children's Hospital, which included over 100 families for children with ADHD. The purpose of the study was to investigate the effectiveness of NVR parent training on the child's ADHD symptoms and associated problems and disorders. The results show that after treatment, both children and parents, showed significant improvement in their condition in many ways, an improvement that maintained after a follow-up period. Another interesting data was the low dropout rate - only 5% of all families receiving treatment. The lecture will present the treatment that was given to the families, the study results and its implications, along with thoughts for further research.
