Heights Hero Mile: Wheelchair Racer Goes Full Send on the Final Hill (Mile 7 of 7)

Mile 7 at the Falmouth Road Race is the Heights Hero Mile—the final, brutal hill where the whole story comes together. In this last episode of the series, we swing out of the harbor into Falmouth Heights and hit a short, steep Character Climb that does not care how tired you are. It’s hot, it’s late in the race, and my hydration system has been dead since Mile 2, which means six miles with no water. My arms are cooked, my throat is sandpaper, and every part of my body is begging me to just “get through it” instead of truly racing it. This is the moment I decide whether I’ll be the racer who survives or the racer who races. You’ll hear the crowd turn into a wall of sound, feel each push up the final hill, and then drop into Full Send Mode on the downhill sprint to the finish line. From Woods Hole Wake‑Up to No‑Water Lock‑In, Out of the Woods, Ocean Rhythm, Beachline Rhythm, Harbor Switchbacks, and now Heights Hero Mile—this is where every hot mile and every hard choice finally pays off. If you’ve followed the series, don’t stop one mile short. This is the finish you’ve been waiting for. 🔔 Subscribe to see more wheelchair racing POVs and adaptive sports stories. 💬 Question: On your toughest “last hill,” are you more likely to play it safe or go full send?
