I genuinely wanted to help the kids, which is why I gave them the money. Even though the amount wasn’t much, just thinking about how many more people might fall for this makes me feel it’s so wrong… The scam they set up was extremely well thought-out. If I hadn’t secretly turned on my camera and asked my local friend to help translate, I probably would have never known I was scammed. I asked him multiple times on WhatsApp whether the donation was made and if there was any video proof, but he kept ignoring my text messages and insisted on calling me instead. I asked him so many times, and every time he called, I refused to answer. I also clearly told him, "Please reply to me in text. I will not answer your calls." But he still refused to leave any written messages and kept trying to call me. On top of that, he enabled the “disappearing messages” mode right from the start, so every time I asked him something or he called me, nothing was saved. It wasn’t until I was editing this video and tried to dig into WhatsApp’s settings that I found out I could actually turn off the “disappearing messages” feature from my side (I rarely use WhatsApp so I wasn’t familiar with it). After I turned it off and asked him again, he finally gave me a super vague reply. But it was already TOO LATE, Mr. RAJU!
