The stones are finally gone – so it's high time to give the machines a well-deserved wash. ✨🚜 While our new Steyr has successfully sown the first field, it's already been given its next task and is now tackling the rapeseed sowing. It's slowly becoming clear why the big guy absolutely had to be on the farm. Actually, it would be time to spread liquid manure now… ...actually. 😅 A glance into the tanks brings a sobering realization: almost no liquid manure left! Solid manure would be an alternative – but we don't have the right spreader for that. So, like it or not, it's artificial fertilizer instead of organic fertilizer. Not the plan, but sometimes the farm plays by its own rules. To keep things interesting, we then take care of the straw in field 4. It's been waiting to be collected for what feels like forever – including a generous portion of weeds as a free bonus. According to the hype, we're now tackling the straw in field 4. We quickly rented a square baler from the dealer next door, and suddenly the next plan was born: Why store the fresh straw from the new field loose when we can make bales right away? No sooner said than done! 🌾 The bales will be neatly stored later and will be available to us as bedding and a reserve. Meanwhile, our new mill is already running at full speed with the freshly harvested oats.
