Twisted Metal 4 - 24 Years Later
Twisted Metal 4 released in 1999 for the PlayStation 1. It was the second and final game in the series to be developed by a different studio from the first 2 games. 989 Studios were tasked with delivering another fully-featured Twisted Metal entry just a year after Twisted Metal 3. Despite what 989 Studios accomplished in so little time, the game was universally panned by critics and fans alike at the time of its release. I argue that it didn't deserve a fraction of the disdain that it got. The worst thing you can say about this game is that the characters were too wacky and dissimilar from what we got with the other Twisted Metal games, which is fair, but that doesn't make the game any less fun. If anything, it just adds meme material. This game isn't Twisted Metal 2, but I am here to say that maybe that's not such a bad thing? Join our Discord! / discord
