This Video Shows How to Clean and Adjust Gibs (Y Axis) on Metal Lathe - Granite Combo Machine Cross-feed You can remove excess movement or slop from your lathe/mill work table by cleaning and readjusting the Y axis lathe gib. Dave gives you detailed instructions on how to remove the gib and clean and lubricate the gib in preparation for returning the gib to it's slot on the underside of the lathe/mill work table. Once the gib is replaced in the worktable you will next tighten the gib into place by sequentially tightening the gib set screws until the table is tightened and the hand wheel has some resistance, but still turns freely. _____________________ Dave Weiss worked as the Service Manager at Smithy for over 20 years.
