やる気って、そんなに大事？

"Is there a way to increase motivation?" This is a question I received from a high school student during a recent lecture I gave. Motivation is like the weather. Sometimes it's sunny, sometimes it's cloudy. Even rainy days. Days when you have motivation are good, and days when you don't are bad. I think it's a little wrong to just leave it up to the weather like that. Motivation is something that makes things easier, but it's not something that stops you moving if you don't have it.
