PART VIDEO #6 In this video, I show the piece-by-piece disassembly of this engine's oil pump, which is complex due to its controls and balance shafts (which require synchronization or timing) to compensate for engine vibrations. It contains brass bearings, gears, and a hydraulic tensioner chain. This pump is connected to the crankshaft by this chain and also requires synchronization for proper installation. In this series of videos, I show the assembly of a Nissan Sentra 2.0 engine, which was completely overhauled. This engine suffered water ingress into the cylinders (it experienced several overheating incidents, including blown head gaskets and cylinder head gaskets) and bent a connecting rod. This engine is entirely made of aluminum (block and cylinder head), making it very delicate to assemble and maintain.
