For our last day in Villa General Belgrano, Córdoba, we went for a stroll through the town and a taste of German food. We started the day with a delicious breakfast at Café Rissen, then went up to the Mirador to enjoy the views of the mountains and the town. Afterwards, we strolled along Paseo dei Fiori and Paseo Los Troncos—two shopping malls where you can buy all kinds of German-style souvenirs. For lunch, we went to Blumen, a restaurant specializing in German food and craft beers. We ordered the Blumen Cutlet with sauerkraut, mushrooms, potatoes, and apples—a portion for 2-3 people! We also tried Berlin beer—a blonde and a red beer—and for dessert, an Apfelstrudel with ice cream and a glass of Black Forest beer. Delicious! 🇦🇷🌄 German Food and Walk Day in Villa General Belgrano, Córdoba 🍺🍰 ☕🍰 Breakfast with a View and Sweetness at Café Rising We started the day in Villa General Belgrano enjoying breakfast on the terrace of Café Rising. The menu: coffee with milk, croissant, toast with raw ham, cheese, and tomato on French bread, and a cornstarch alfajor with dulce de leche. The whole thing cost 400 pesos (about 10 US dollars), and it was the perfect start to a day of sightseeing. 🏞️👀 Climb to the Lookout Point and Panoramic Views With renewed energy, we climbed to the town's lookout point for just 35 pesos each (less than a dollar). From the top, you can see the mountains, the town's typical German architectural style, and a compass painted on the ground indicating the cardinal points. A must-see if you visit Villa General Belgrano! 🏘️🎨 Shopping and Charming Shops We visited two shopping centers: Paseo de Lory: a medieval mini-town with colorful houses, souvenir shops, and German products. Paseo Los Troncos: more modern, with a variety of clothing, swimsuits, and sandals, ideal for those on summer vacation. 🐕🌳 River Walk and Dog Meet-Up While we waited for the German restaurant to open, we took the opportunity to stroll along the river and found three friendly dogs playing in the water. A simple but very picturesque moment. 🍺🥩 German Lunch at Restaurant Blumen It was time for the long-awaited German lunch! We chose Restaurant Blumen (blumen means "flowers" in German), where we were greeted with soft bread and cucumber mayonnaise. We tried craft beers (blonde and red, from Cervecería Berlín) to cool off on a hot summer day. 🥘 The Main Course: Blumen Cutlet A HUGE platter for two people (although it could just as easily have been for four!): Two pork cutlets with a creamy mushroom and walnut sauce Bitter sauerkraut Boiled potato with parsley Peas Caramelized apples and cherries Each bite was an explosion of flavors: the thick sauce, just the right amount of sauerkraut, the potatoes with sauce, and the apple as a special touch. Crazy abundance! 🍨🍒 German Desserts with a Touch of Liqueur We couldn't leave without dessert (even though we were already stuffed). Black Forest Glass: cream, liqueur, cinnamon, cherries. Apple Strudel: apple, walnuts, raisins, ice cream. Both were exquisite, although too much to finish. The total for lunch (including desserts): 1,700 pesos (about $45), making it the most expensive meal of the trip, but Samuel confirms: it was worth it! ☀️⛰️ Farewell and Final Recommendations After such a feast and in the heat of the Córdoba siesta, we had to climb the hill to the hotel.
