During our visit to Villa General Belgrano, we went out for a barbacoa with offal at Posta del Arroyo, a lovely restaurant located right next to the stream and across from the Ecological Park. We had intended to go for a barbacoa lunch; it turned out they were only open for dinner that day, but it was worth the wait! We ordered the barbacoa for two with chorizo, blood sausage, chitterlings, kidney, flank steak, roast beef, and chicken or pork. To accompany the meat, we ordered a full salad, a bottle of red wine, and for dessert, Samuel couldn't resist the pancakes with dulce de leche - delicious! 🥩🇦🇷 Argentine Grill Night in Villa General Belgrano | Complete Restaurant Experience 🍷✨ 🌃🍴 Anticipating the Grill and Sunset Tour We started the evening with high expectations and hunger, after a light lunch of a mountain-style picada. We walked down the hill to the center of town as the sun was setting, eager to try a good Argentine grill. Although we arrived a little early at the Posta del Arroyo restaurant, we took advantage of the time strolling along the stream surrounded by trees, waiting for the doors to open for dinner. 🕗🇦🇷 First at the Grill: Argentine Customs We were the first to enter: dinner is late in Argentina, but we, with Canadian customs, were ready to attack the grill as soon as it opened. The restaurant was quiet, but it soon filled with locals and tourists. We ordered a grill for two that included all kinds of classic cuts: chorizo, blood sausage, kidney, chitterlings, flank steak, rib-eye steak, and much more. We also ordered a full salad and bread and butter to accompany it. 🍷🥗 Wine, Appetizers, and Salads Samuel chose a Trapiche Malbec wine, one of Argentina's favorites and most famous, perfect for pairing with meat. We toasted and began the experience with bread, lentils, beans, and a super-complete salad with potatoes, carrots, a hard-boiled egg, tomato, corn, onion, beets, and green leaves, all dressed with lemon juice, olive oil, and salt. 🥩🔥 The Great Grill: Meats, Flavors, and Experiences The grill arrived! We started with the sausages and offal: blood sausage, chorizo, kidney, and chitterlings. Blood sausage: Samuel tried it for the second time and became a fan. Chorizo: Always an Argentine classic. Kidney and chitterlings: New experiences for some, acquired tastes for others. As dinner progressed, the most substantial cuts arrived: rib-eye steak and flank steak. There was also a choice of chicken or pork, but we went straight for the beef, the group's favorite. 🥗🍟 Portions, Atmosphere, and Total Satisfaction The portions were huge and flavorful, and although we tried to finish everything, it was impossible: there was leftover meat to take away! The restaurant's atmosphere was filled with energy, music, and conversation, typical of Argentine grills. 🐶❤️ Sharing with Four-Legged Friends When we left, we shared the leftovers with a stray dog who gratefully followed us. There's always room for a gesture of kindness after a good meal. 💸📊 Price and Final Balance The final price was 1,200 Argentine pesos (approx. 30 USD): it includes the grill for two, wine, bread, salad, and dessert. A hearty, high-quality, and affordable dinner, ideal for those who want to experience authentic Argentine grilling in Córdoba. 😴🏠 End of the Night and Recommendations We ended the night full and happy, ready to sleep and close out a day of pure local cuisine.
