MÃOS QUE FAZEM: MULHERES QUE LUTAM - #ExpediçãoGeoPB

Mãos que fazer: Mulheres que lutam is a documentary short film that celebrates female protagonism in the interior of Paraíba, presenting inspiring stories of women who transformed their hands into instruments of work, resistance and cultural transformation. In this episode of the GeoPB Expedition, we visit three municipalities to highlight the strength and determination of Dona Lia, Cida and Mestra Toinha, extraordinary women who keep local traditions alive and strengthen female entrepreneurship, serving as an example for the entire society. Our journey begins in Ingá, land of the Itacoatiaras, where we meet Dona Lia, creator of the Memorial do Cuscuz. A woman of great courage, she faced countless challenges to create a space that honors and preserves the culture of the Northeast. Dona Lia is a guardian of the affective memory and culinary traditions of the people of Paraíba, symbolizing the cultural strength of our land. We continue to Itabaiana, the Queen of the Paraíba Valley, where we meet Cida, owner of Cantina do Sabor. Her career is an example of overcoming obstacles and dedication. Today, she is a reference in regional cuisine, delighting the Paraíba Valley with dishes that nourish not only the body, but also the soul. Every day, her tireless hands create a unique connection between flavor and the region's cultural identity, demonstrating how women's work is essential for community development. We ended the expedition in Juarez Távora, land of the labyrinth, an art that is a true icon of Paraíba culture. There, we met Dona Toinha, the Labirinteira Master, who, with her unique skill, transformed the art of embroidery into a cultural legacy of immense relevance. Dona Toinha is a living example of how tradition can be renewed and valued, inspiring new generations to continue this practice so rich in meaning. This short film highlights the grandeur and relevance of the work of these women, who are true leaders in their communities. Hands that make: Women who fight reinforces the importance of female leadership as a driver of cultural and social transformation, celebrating trajectories that serve as inspiration for all.
