Grafting Pomegranate Trees! It's Fun and Easy (Results at the End)

I decided to release this video now so folks can prepare for the late winter to early spring of 2022, which is the best time to graft pomegranate (Punica Granatum). I used the modified cleft graft to put a Parfianka pomegranate scion onto this established, mature 15 foot tall tree. I like to graft pomegranate after the tree drops all of its leaves and goes into dormancy mode for the winter. Once I see the tree beginning to grow out new leaves in preparation for spring, that's when I start grafting pomegranate. My success rate is quite high for grafting at this time of year (late winter to early spring). I get a nearly 100% success rate. Timing is important. One should graft after the severe cold of the winter subsides, but not too late after the spring growth begins. Once the weather warms up, pomegranate trees can become quite vigorous, and they would likely overpower graft growth with their own rootstock growth.
