Morning Routine We start the day with personal care and preparation actions: Wake up Get up Brush my teeth Wash my face Have breakfast Go to school 🌳 2. Afternoon Places After midday, our routine involves moving around different spaces in the city: School ➔ Where we study and meet friends. Park ➔ Where we play, run and ride bikes. Restaurant ➔ Where we have lunch with family. 🌃 3. Evening Routine The time to slow down and prepare for rest: Watch TV Have dinner Take a shower Go to bed ⏱️ 4. Frequency Adverbs To say how often we do these actions, we use special words. In 5th grade, we focus on three main adverbs: 🟢 Always ➔ 100% of the time. Example: I always brush my teeth in the morning. 🟡 Sometimes ➔ 50% of the time. Example: I sometimes go to the park in the afternoon. 🔴 Never ➔ 0% of the time. Example: I never watch TV in the morning. 💡 Golden Rule of the Sentence: The adverb of frequency usually comes before the action (the verb). Structure: Who + Frequency + Action → I + always + wake up early. 🎮 Practical Activities for the Notebook Activity 1: Unscramble and Translate Put the words in the correct order in your notebook to form routine sentences and write the translation on the line below: bed / to / night / I / at / go Answer: I go to bed at night. Translation: I go to bed at night. always / morning / breakfast / I / have / the / in Answer: I always have breakfast in the morning. Translation: I always have breakfast in the morning. Sometimes / afternoon / restaurant / go / a / I / to / in / the Answer: I sometimes go to a restaurant in the afternoon. Translation: I sometimes go to a restaurant in the afternoon. Activity 2: My True Routine Rewrite the sentences in your notebook, filling in the blank with the adverb of frequency that is true for your life (Always, Sometimes, or Never): A) I _______________ take a shower in the evening. B) I _______________ go to the park in the afternoon. C) I _______________ watch TV in the morning. D) I _______________ brush my teeth after lunch. 💡 Pedagogical Tip: The Action Clock Before starting the written record, do a 5-minute activity called "What time of day is it?". Divide the board into three large columns: MORNING 🌅, AFTERNOON ☀️, and EVENING 🌃. Say an action aloud in English (e.g., "Take a shower!") and mime taking a shower. Ask the class to point or shout out what time of day they usually do that. If the class is divided between afternoon and evening, use this as a hook to introduce adverbs: "Ah! So some of you always take a shower at night and others sometimes take one in the afternoon!"
