104°🥵Sonoran Desert UTV/SxS offroad adventure. Box Canyon🏜️Jack Handle🌵Coke Ovens🔥Gila River🏖️Oh my!
The forecast is 104° 🥵 today in our local Sonoran Desert near Florence, AZ. It was 85° when we left the Price Road/East Cottonwood Canyon Road staging area at 9 a.m. We’re driving 4 UTV/SxS to the Coke Ovens through Box Canyon, up & down Jack Handle, Martinez Canyon Road, & various numbered trails. OnX Offroad rates some of the trail. The highest difficulty is shown as 7/10, but many of the trails don’t have ratings. I’m certain we traveled unrated trails that exceeded this rating. There is a section named Stair Step Ledges & lots of rock road roughness throughout the ride. We have Gary in his tipsy 50” Can-Am Trail which is guaranteed to make the adventure more exciting. At one spot Gary radioed he needed to get out to see if he could find a way around the cliff that he almost drove off! 😱 After the Coke Ovens we plan to cross the Gila River for a faster/easier return in the flat lands. They say a safe river crossing here is a flow rate of 350 CFS or less. I wonder how fast the water will be moving when we get there? What could possibly go wrong? I’ll share a little. At 102° someone needed a tow! 🥴 If you are a trail rider this may be the adventure you’ve been looking for! Desert Villain videos are all about sharing as I learn about UTV/SxS off-roading, trail rides, desert climbing, and exploring new places to ride. Whether you’re a novice or seasoned rider, you’ll discover how to improve your skills, learn new driving techniques, see accessory reviews that make every desert ride more enjoyable, & find new trails for your next desert adventure.
