Two rare birds. Two huge risks. Two potential lifers! Lesser-Crested Tern & Desert Wheatear

In this week’s adventure, we head south straight after a powerful storm in search of a Mega rare bird in the UK — a Lesser Crested Tern, a species that hasn’t been recorded here for 20 years. The chase isn’t easy… this tern gives us a complete runaround, and we end up investing the entire day trying to pin it down. Do we finally connect with this once-in-a-generation bird? The following day, we take another risk and drive even further south, this time for a bird that honestly should be in the Sahara or Central Asia — a stunning Desert Wheatear blown wildly off course. Only problem? The weather is brutal. Sideways rain, howling winds, and a very small bird hiding somewhere out on the coast! Two rare birds. Two huge risks. Two potential lifers!
